The wellness visit focuses on a prevention plan rather than a hands-on exam.

Medicare Part B covers a yearly wellness visit focused on developing or updating a personalized prevention plan, including a review of medical history, current prescriptions and a screening schedule.

If a provider performs additional tests or addresses a new health problem during the same appointment, those services may be billed separately and subject to the usual deductible and coinsurance.
